Day 1: Arrival at Cusco Airport and Transfer In

Upon your arrival, our professional driver will be waiting for you at the arrivals area, holding a sign with your name or company name Inca Town Travel for easy identification. Please look for our representative after collecting your luggage.

The transfer time from the airport to most hotels in Cusco is approximately 20 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

Day 2: Cusco City Tour (Full Day)

Once in Aguas Calientes, check in at your hotel and take some time to relax, freshen up, and enjoy a light lunch before your afternoon visit to Machu Picchu. The town offers many small cafes and restaurants with local and international dishes to choose from.

After lunch (not included), take the shuttle bus from Aguas Calientes up to the Machu Picchu citadel. The bus ride takes about 25 minutes, and as you ascend, you’ll get your first glimpses of the breathtaking mountains surrounding this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Upon arrival, meet your guide for an afternoon tour of Machu Picchu, one of the most iconic archaeological sites in the world. Your guide will take you through the key areas of the ancient city.

Enjoy the serenity of visiting Machu Picchu in the afternoon, when the crowds have thinned, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the peaceful atmosphere of this sacred site.

After exploring Machu Picchu, take the shuttle bus back down to Aguas Calientes. The late afternoon and evening are yours to explore the town at your leisure. For those seeking a bit more adventure, an optional hike to Huayna Picchu Mountain is available. This challenging yet rewarding trek offers unparalleled panoramic views of Machu Picchu from above. The hike takes about 2 to 3 hours round-trip and includes steep climbs, but the stunning vistas make it well worth the effort.

After your hike, head back down to Aguas Calientes for a quick lunch (not included) before catching your train. Board the train from Aguas Calientes to Poroy, the nearest train station to Cusco, once you arrive in Poroy, you will board a private vehicle for the final leg of your journey to Cusco. The drive takes approximately 30 minutes.

Note: On this day, if you are not visiting Machu Picchu for a second time or hiking Huayna Picchu Mountain, we will head directly back to Poroy and then on to Cusco.
